First aid course 8 hours
The 8-hour first aid course is the most comprehensive one-day course (can be split into two days) available. In the course, you learn and practice the theory of CPR, the basics and approach to providing first aid, treating injuries and bruises, treating unconsciousness and common emergency situations.
The goal of this course is to provide basic, but certainly broad, knowledge in providing first aid in the event of an emergency.
The course includes a CPR section, a trauma and injuries section, and a non-trauma and diseases section.
In the CPR section, you learn about:
Resuscitation of an adult, child and infant
Introduction to living systems and the triangle of life
The chain of survival
Identification
How to call for help
Pre-hospital emergency system
Identifying cardiac arrest
Treatment of unconsciousness
Performing CPR on an adult, child, and infant
Treatment of foreign body choking
In the Trauma and Illness section, you learn how to identify and treat common emergencies:
Fainting
Convulsions
Stroke
Myocardial infarction (heart attack)
Allergy and anaphylaxis (acute allergic attack)
In the trauma section, you learn:
Common injuries
Stopping bleeding
Fracture fixation
During the course, you will practice CPR, foreign body, and dressings.
After an 8-hour first aid course, you will feel like you have the tools to cope if you are exposed to an emergency situation.
